FAQs

  • This group is for people who have tried the “just make a budget!” approach to managing money, and know that there has to be more to it than that. This group is for people who keep telling themselves they just need to be more “disciplined” or “organized” when it comes to money – even though that has never worked in the past. This group is for people who want to finally get rid of the awful shame they feel about money and start using money as a resource. This group is for people who want a safe, shame-free space to talk about money and their emotions around it.

  • This group program is offered to marginalized genders including women, non-binary and gender non-conforming people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women in relation to money and personal finance. I recognize and acknowledge the intersection of race and gender identities and it is my intention that this group program can be a space that is inclusive and safe for those who have been marginalized by the patriarchy.

  • Yes! This group is open to participants across the U.S.

  • Yes! This group is the perfect complement to the work you may already be doing with your therapist or financial professional. You will likely find that your experience in the Money Relationship Makeover will allow you to go even deeper with the other professionals you are currently working with.

  • Many times financial anxiety stems from a lack of clarity around our finances and not knowing if we actually have the money to spend on something or not. So, number 1, I would suggest taking a clear look at your finances. If you do not have the money to invest in this group, do NOT just ignore the facts and pretend that you do. This will only cause more anxiety and shame later. If you do have the money to invest in this group, and you are still experiencing financial anxiety, then it is likely stemming from a lack of trust in yourself and in your ability to make financial decisions. So, number 2, check in with yourself around why you want to join this group. Write out the reasons you believe this would be a good investment (focus on long-term benefits rather than short-term quick fixes/dopamine hits -- what do you want to get out of this experience?) Then, check to see if this group is going to provide what you are looking for. Look at the information on this page. Bring your thoughts to our meet and greet call and I’m happy to talk through them together. If this program is not a good fit for your goals, I’m happy to discuss that with you upfront and suggest a different resource that better aligns with your goals. If it is aligned with your goals, then trust yourself to make a decision that will benefit you in the long-term, and let’s get started with your makeover!

  • The purpose of this program is to explore how we relate to money emotionally and psychologically. Therefore, this is not what you may think of as a typical money coaching program. Although we will discuss financial topics such as spending plans, debt and investing, setting up financial systems and strategies is not the focus of this program.

  • No. To honor the privacy of the group members and to create a space where members feel safe to share freely and have deeply honest converations, the sessions will not be recorded. Also, there’s just magic that happens from live events that can’t be duplicated or experienced from recordings.

  • Payments are non-refundable after the start of the program. I encourage you to make your decision mindfully because after the group starts there are no refunds. If you feel you have an extraordinary circumstance, please contact me. Also, I ask that you please remember taht you are engaging with and buying from a human, not a corporation, which means I can’t and don’t offer and unsustainable refund policy that doesn’t honor the time, energy, and resources used to create and facilitate the program.
